Don't become a victim!

T.I.M.E.R
T. think!  (Stay in control.)
I. initiate a plan! (What are the alternatives)
M.  move!  (Move away from the bully.)
E. exit!    (Leave the area)
R. report! (Report it immediately.)

Never say "Shut up" because:
It gives the bully satisfaction that whatever they are doing bothered you. If it does, it is likely the behavior will continue, and the bully may encourage others to do this type of activity toward you.

Often we are told by adults to ignore it, "it will go away". Sometimes it does and sometimes they just don't understand that they need to stop. Young children often don't understand the consequences or lack real rational judgement of what they do or how it hurts someone else.

Instead say:
"I’ve given you enough chances to stop this."
"If you do it again, I’m reporting it."
"You are not getting it – I said enough already, OK!"

As a general rule, if you have to say it twice, then you need to report it, and get help with this situation.

Sometimes children do this for attention from the student but, it often comes out offensive. If this is the case, then an adult must correct this behavior.
