Tammy is our Speaking Coordinator.
Foster parents get all of the information that is up to date on crisis and trauma, how bullying affects a child, and how physical, sexual, and verbal abuse effects children through the stages of their childhood. This seminar focuses parents attention to what they can do now, and focus on the future of their child. 3-4 hour event.
School Speakings also get up to date information, plus they get help with policies, crisis and trauma recognition and training, counselors will recieve training, and the children will more thoroughly understand the depth of this problem. The speakings are geared toward involvement from the children attending. This event should be done toward the end of the school day, and into the evening, and will address parent questions if they attend with their children.
Communities are always looking for a way to enhance and learn about this social problem, if you have an interest in learning more about what you can do call the number above, and we will be happy to visit with you.
Patrick Harnish has been speaking for three years, various places around the state of Iowa. He is also in graduate schooling for crisis and trauma specialization in the mental health counseling field. It is his interest in childrens well-being that he takes pride in, and knowing that school staff are better prepared to recognize symptoms quickly in the school environment. For almost 4 years, Patrick has seen some near tragedies in schools, and wants to work with schools to see that they are safer. He would like to work with you as a parent and help you understand what to expect if your child is a victim, and how to work with your school effectively. What a wonderful way for a community to be up to date, and on top of this very troublesome issue.
