"One thing I find the most rewarding is helping in a way that is of interest to you, as it is the most likely to succeed. By volunteering and getting kids the help they need; I give back on a daily basis."
My interests: Helping kids, counseling, teaching bullying prevention, helping schools, and events.
"Giving back is an awesome feeling and one that many in the community will find rewarding as well. It is not for everyone, and most know their first time volunteering. I think for me it is knowing that the one or many children I am able to help is letting me sleep more soundly at night, and possibly for them too."
Why is there a need for this?
There are kids who are in the community that are hurt, abused, or in many ways psychologically injured due to school instances, parental instances, or other instances. I often ask what is it we can do more to help these children?
Right now the group funds all of our income but, we know to be able to do more to help these children we must reach out to the community. It is a great opportunity for the community to step forward and help the children in their communities, and better their lives.
"I personally know that times are hard for most but, together we can reach out, and be there for someone. I have also helped adults dealing with these types of issues in the workplace, and I find that the workplace has yet to deal with this issue themselves. A rational workplace knows already that supervisors and managers cannot promote this type of activity."
"I am undertaking an effort for change through the government, not because the law just isn't good enough but, because of how it is worded. The law can be improved because, I have seen where the law slips through a crack. Schools according to the law are given immunity when they deal with the situation, however, it does not say that the administration or a counselor is required to check up on that situation. There is also no cap on lawsuits, or the ability to speak up about what had happened to you in a prior school. I disagree with the two year statute, and I believe that if something was severe enough, then they have the right to be heard."
"I always take the time to be that ear for a parent at any time of the day except on weekends when I work. Unavoidable. However, I would gladly meet with them to get a child under control, or to help them with another type of situation their child may be going through."
"I have outreached to other organizations to help kids who are harmed by a parent worse than what I can help them with. I will always advocate for any child, no matter how bad, or hurt they are."
"I hope all of you who care for a child will consider donating to our cause, and maybe one day coming on board to help with our efforts. Check our opportunities to see if one is available."
