This was a really great group of kids and at the end everyone wanted the address to this website and the site to www.jaredstory.com to do some research.  We have had one of the greatest responses to this approach that I have ever seen. Teens from this group were really good with their questions and kept them focused to the topic. Some younger students are very aware of the bullying that is happening and were discussing ways their mothers told them to prevent it. Some of them were not such good ideas to implant in a child, however, we told them what to do. By getting this group really involved they learned alot in one hour.
KUDOS to this group!

Busing  has become a major focal point as to the safety of our children. Some schools have video monitoring on the buses and is highly encouraged. Many times the bus drivers are busy watching the road and adhering to traffic regulations. This doesn't allow them a lot of room to keep track of what is going on. Possibilities to consider for some busing is to have another person in charge on the bus to monitor the children.

When discussing percentages attended to on the playground, noting the 84% not properly dealth with; the adults assumed that was to low. In fact it might be but, without proper reporting and monitoring by schools, as it stands that is the governments latest statistic in 2002. 1 teacher is average per 100 students on the playground. At any one time it can be one per recess group of kids. Typically in small schools this is the case.

What this shows is that even small children are affected in some way by bullying, harrassment, or physical harm, and as a result we must pass policies in the school system, and in the community that disables this type of social atmosphere. Problems at home are readily seen by the higher percentages. Notice there is a correlation between at school and outside school. It is not only statistically sound but, it is very accurate. We will have more information in the near future.
